GlobeAIM

The GlobeAIM software provides a simple yet powerful interface that collects information from the remote computers and sends it back to one or more shore-based users. This information may be data files from the ship or information collected from one of the shipboard computers such as system information, registry data, disk drive data files, or directory listings.

All tasks are administered from a shore-based user account and sent out to the GlobeAIM remote stations via Internet e-mail, or Globe Wireless satellite or HF radio communications. When the task is received at the remote site, it is either scheduled for later execution or it executes immediately. The execution results as well as any additional data is placed into a message and submitted into the Globe e-mail software containing the captured files and/or information. To provide security and prevent malicious damage, a password in the task data must match the execution password onboard the ship for the task to execute. This prevents unauthorized users from sending a task that could damage the shipboard computer's operating environment.
