The SeaWave Remote Management Suite
SeaWave STAR - SeaWave Tracking and Reporting
GPS and Iridium come standard in every SeaWave NavSeries and SeaWave Integrator.
These two hardware components provide the tools necessary to provide tracking information from any SeaWave equipped vessel. Tracking
information consists of time and date, latitude, longitude, speed and heading and is sent as either historical or priority data.
SeaWave historical tracking is part of the standard data service and sent at least once a day, or more frequently if you schedule or initiate
additional connections. Priority tracking data is sent in near real time and available for low mothly cost and low per report fee. Historical
and priority tracking compliment one another to help describe where the vessel traveled. Typically historical data is captured more frequently,
say ever 30 minutes. Priority data on the other hand might be sent every 2 hours. For companies looking for a total tracking solution priority
and historical data can be used collectively to paint a more precise picture of vessel and fleet movement.
SeaWave STAR and SeaWave STAR Premium are two applications offered by SeaWave that
access the tracking data from this server and display the results graphically. Tracking reports appear as individual waypoints, each joined
by a line to show the course the vessel traveled. SeaWave STAR is freely available on mySeaWave using a valid
username and password. SeaWave STAR Premium is a desktop application delivered on CD and includes a USB dongle
for loading electronic navigational charts (ENC) on which tracking data can be overlaid.
What vessel(s) a user has access to in SeaWave STAR and SeaWave STAR Premium is determined by SeaWave Billing.
A person responsible for a fleet for example, would be able to view all the vessels in his or her fleet using STAR. A crew member sailing on
a SeaWave equipped vessel would only be able to see the tracking information for that particular vessel.
