SeaWave Selected as Inmarsat Case Study Contest Winner
SeaWave was announced as a winner of Inmarsat's Case Study Competition. The contest was publicized at their Partner Conference
in November.
"The calibre of entries was of a very high standard, which made choosing the winners an unenviable task!" stated Perry
Melton, VP of Partner and Commercial Relationships for Inmarsat.

The SeaWave case study focuses on the SeaWave Fleet Integrator. The powerful combination of the Inmarsat Fleet F55 and the SeaWave
Integrator provide communications onboard the R/V Seward Johnson II, part of the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution
(Link: HBOI) fleet. This floating laboratory accommodates 38 scientists, engineers,
mariners and support personnel and is a particularly interesting story, in that the vessel now uses Fleet F55 as part of
their dedication to scientific research and desire to educate and raise public awareness of the marine environment in
all of the world's oceans.
SeaWave also provides a similar solution onboard the 204-foot R/V Seward Johnson I, another vessel in the HBOI fleet with up to
40 people. A SeaWave Integrator and Inmarsat Fleet 77 combine to provide communications on board this vessel.
"SeaWave simplifies the administration of communications for myself, the crew as well as the scientists sailing on our ships.
SeaWave allows us to concentrate on the important tasks at hand helping ship operations tremendously." said Tim Askew, Director of
Maritime Operations at HBOI.
The SeaWave case study on HBOI can be found here and will appear
in the April-June issue of Via Inmarsat Incorporating Ocean Voice.
