GlobeAlert will simultaneously transmit a ship-to-shore security alert via HF radio, satellite, and/or GSM phone to a competent authority designated as by the company. The system uses the ship's existing communication systems and connects the alert terminals to the Ethernet on the vessel as with any other digital device. GlobeAlert will communicate any of several different alarm messages as defined by the Ship Security Officer. The signal will transmit the ships location, alert status and appropriate message every hour until the alarm is disabled. GlobeAlert does not rely on HF radio, the system is configured to transmit via any communication method the ship may have available.
