Director of Network Services - Port St. Lucie, FL
Must display experience in building and running a team of Network and Systems engineers. Must have a strong working knowledge of database, server and application architectures, the methods and challenges of software deployment, experience with planning and managing systems integration, an aptitude identifying opportunities to enhance network performance for database and distributed applications. Must also have a strong working knowledge of Cisco networking, Telco networks and networking within Windows and Unix based systems.
Critical Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Expertise in network management and performance measurement tools.
- Extensive background with Windows and Unix servers.
- Extensive background with mail servers
- Experience working with enterprise level database servers and associated hardware.
- Extensive background in data communications protocols and networking (SNMP, TCP/IP, etc)
- Experience in working with application load balancing and supporting technologies, such as: DNS, BIND and ENUM.
- Project Management Experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in a 24X7 support environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Insure the operation of a 24 X 7 world wide WAN interconnecting multiple sites.
- Develop network reporting and performance metrics for network performance quality.
- Consult with the application development team on efficient application deployment strategies and to optimize performance.
- Work with DBA to optimize database performance
- Participate in network performance troubleshooting & problem resolution.
- Estimate and manage the impact to of new technologies on the existing infrastructure.
- Work on a cross-functional team to accomplish overall objectives.
- Meet with vendors to identify and report on current and future technologies
- Make hardware and other system recommendations to maintain high availability networks and systems
Education, Experience, and Job Knowledge
- BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline
- 5 plus years experience as a systems manager in a commercial environment.
- Prior experience with high volume data transactions on enterprise systems.
- Experience with large real time database systems which include Sybase and Oracle.
